The birth of a new sustainable product
Not too long ago we wrote an article on The Frequency Of Clothing which was based off a study that measured the vibrational frequencies of fabrics. The study indicated that the frequency of a healthy human body rests at 100. Any fabric that measures 100 or more may impart energy, while low-frequency fabrics like polyester that measure zero, might drain it. In short, the higher the frequency, the more beneficial the fabric is for human health. It was no surprise that synthetic clothing measured at zero. After all, synthetic fabrics have never been alive! Natural fabrics like linen and wool were off the charts in vibrational frequency measuring at 5000!
What inspired our Shavasana linen throw blanket?
Linen sparked an interest in me. It's one of the most sustainable materials around [you had me at sustainable materials] and historically, linen has been revered for its healing properties, often used in bandages, linen sheets and clothing for its natural resistance to bacterial growth and fungi. I like wool, but I don't like the itchy feeling of wool on my skin. But linen - I've always loved linen. I love its feel, I love its effortless beach vibe look. Linen breathes and in many ways, it comforts me. When I learned about linen's vibrational frequency, I knew I wanted to create a product using 100% pure linen. Being a yoga brand, it was a no brainer. I needed to create a 'Shavasana' linen blanket. Shavasana (corpse pose) in itself is the most relaxing pose, usually performed at the end of the yoga session. It acts a cool-down posture and releases the muscles, integrating the work done in your yoga practice.
